City Council City Council is a representative local self-government body of Yaroslavl At the election of March 14, 2004 and at the repeat election of May 16, 2004, 36 single member constituencies the City Council of the 4th convocation was elected (structure). The deputies were elected for a 4-year term. City Council Chairman City Council Vice-Chairman Alexander Vladimirovich Kuznetsov Deputies of the City Council of the 4th convocation, except the Chairman, serve part-time. Among the deputies of the City Council there are 12 managers of industrial and transport companies, 3 teachers and headmasters of secondary schools, 7 doctors and medical institutions managers, 12 small and medium business managers and 2 lawyers. The City Council Control Chamber performs controlling function of the City Council as far as budgetary management is concerned. The deputies form territorial-structured deputy groups based in district administrations’ offices, in special deputies’ rooms, where reception of people is organised. The City Council also includes four standing commissions responsible for preparation and prior review of the City Council draft resolutions, control over these resolutions implementation, etc. The City Administration and the City Council are two branches of the municipal power and two bodies of local self-government, each of which has its work planned with a view to solve the vital tasks of the city life. The City Council functions in accordance with the Regulations.
